Nine Bozeman “Celebrities” Serve it up for Family Promise of Gallatin ValleyBozeman, MT — April 2, 2012 — (end april 2)
On Monday, April 2nd nine of Bozeman’s best local celebrities will be serving up delicious John Bozeman’s Bistro fare for lucky guests to support Family Promise of Gallatin Valley. Family Promise is a Bozeman nonprofit that serves local homeless families with children.
The following local celebrities will be showing off their serving talents: Loren Acton-astronaut and physicist; Denise Andres-top 10 ERA realtor in the US; Brian Gootkin-Gallatin County Sheriff; Rachel Hergett-Bozeman Daily Chronicle editor/reporter; John Ludin-famous Disney writer and operator of the Ellen Theater; DJ Missy O'Malley-local radio host; Patrice Parks-KTVM news anchor; Ron Price-Chief of Police and Debbi Royer-loan officer and Family Promise Board President.
Fundraiser for Ashley Butcher: (end april 7th)
Please join our community in the support of Ashley Butcher and her family. Ashley has Posturan Orthostatic Tachycardia Sydrome –POTS- which is a chronic disease that affects the nervous system. Ashely suffers life-altering and debilitating symptoms. Starting at 3pm on April 7th at the Wolf Den in Three Forks, a fundraiser will be held to raise money for Ashley’s battle with POTS. There will be food, karaoke, raffles, door prizes, a live auction, and tons of fun!
Rotary Interact April Fools Rush In (end april 7)
5K and 1 Mile Fun Run: $20 race day registration starting at 9:30 am. $15 registration online at active.com or racemontana.com. At the East Gallatin Recreation Area. All proceeds go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
EASTER EGG HUNT (END APRIL 7)
All are invited to the Gallatin Valley’s largest Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 7th at the MSU practice fields. With 60,000 candy-filled eggs, this family friendly event will be one big party. Inflatables, face painting, crafts, games and refreshments. Gates open at 10:30 AM with the hunt beginning at 11:00 AM sharp!
Journey Church loves to support our community in this way - free of charge and no strings attached! One of our five core values is FUN, and this is a great way to prove it! Holiday Lights (end april 19th)
Holiday Lights Inc. of Livingston is holding their Annual Fundraiser at The
Office Lounge on Main St. in Livingston. This special event will take place
April 19th from 5:30 to 8pm. There will be wine and hors d’oeuvres,
drawings, live and silent auctions. Cost is $10 per person or $15 for a
couple. Just pay at the door. All proceeds raised support 501c3 Holiday
Lights of Livingston. Help keep the lights burning bright at the holiday

Livingston’s Got Talent (end april 27th)
The Livingston Area Chamber presents Livingston’s Got Talent on April 27th
at the Buckhorn Theatre just ½ mile south from Interstate 90 Exit 333. This
will be a fun-filled night of family entertainment. Come out and see your
friends and family strut their stuff. There will be singers, dancers,
musicians, and more. Doors open at 7pm; Performance starts at 7:30pm.
Tickets are $20 and on sale at Conley's Books & Music and at the Livingston
Area Chamber. All proceeds support the Livingston Area Chamber Visitor

We are pleased to announce that on Friday, April 27th from 5-8pm we will be hosting a gathering of MSU students, faculty and the Bozeman community on Main Street from Tracy Avenue to Bozeman Avenue in Downtown Bozeman. We’ll be closing down Main Street to invite everyone to enjoy food, music and fun! There will be free Redneck Sausages, hot dogs and hamburgers, and Pepsi products as well as other free items for students and faculty with appropriate identification as well as for the general community such as “Senior Send-Off” cups and drink tickets, Bobcat Spirit t-shirts, koozies, raffles and more! Also, watch the 2nd Annual Pizza Eating Contest!
Hawthorne Elementary School Celebration of Children And The Arts(end may 18)
Hawthorne School is proud to announce that their annual spring “Celebration of Children and the Arts” will be held on Friday, May 18th, from 5-8:30 PM at Hawthorne Elementary School (114 N. Rouse in Bozeman). There will be great food and activities for the entire family. New this year will be art projects led by the Bozeman High School Art Club, FlipSide photo booth, and a Children's Film Festival never before seen in Montana! All funds raised during the event will benefit Hawthorne's Art Program (a non-profit, 501c3 organization), and contributions are tax deductible. Radon is an invisible, odorless, and naturally occurring radioactive gas that can accumulate to unsafe levels in your home. It is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States, claiming the lives of more than 20,000 Americans each year. Gallatin County is classified as a “Zone 1” radon area which means all homes in the county have the potential for high levels of radon. The Gallatin City-County Health Department would like to encourage all residents of Gallatin County to test their homes for radon. Exposure to radon gas can be prevented. Testing for radon is inexpensive and home repairs are affordable. Please contact the Gallatin City-County Health Department at 582-3120 or at ehs@gallatin.mt.gov to purchase a test kit or for more information about radon.

Free Gun Locks (tfn)
For a limited time, Child Care Connections will be distributing free gun locks to interested people in the community as part of their child safety program. Montana has the highest rate of suicide in the nation and nearly two-thirds of those suicides are by firearms. In addition, every childhood accidental shooting injury has one common denominator, access to a loaded firearm. The most important thing parents, caregivers and gun owners can do to protect children is reduce their access to firearms and safely store all guns. The Gallatin Solid Waste Management District holds a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program on the second Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to noon. We accept hazardous chemicals from residents free of charge. Hazardous wastes from businesses. Call: 582-2494 for more information.

Safe and Alive
Montana's biggest killer is motor vehicle crashes. Safe and Alive presents the facts about motor vehicle passenger safety to empower Montanans to make the right personal, parental, and policy choices that touch the lives of individuals and families every day. These facts are based on statistics and studies from the Montana Department of Transportation, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and other credible sources. To provide a better understanding of this topic, the Buckle Up/Safe Kids Coalition will be offering this free presentation to area businesses, agencies and community groups. Each year AFS gives a number of special families a chance to host an AFS High School exchange student.
