This film is in the same style as Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink, and it's just as great as those films. Edge of Seventeen stars Hailee Steinfield (Pitch Perfect 2) as Nadine, a 17-year-old junior who is awkward and is trying to figure things out. Let's just say things don't go great. Her brother is perfect and she hates him for it. Her best friend ends up falling in love with her brother and they have a huge falling out. The film has great comedic moments and some truly sad parts that make the film feel more and more authentic.

I remember going through high school the same way. You sympathize with Nadine and some of the struggles she is going through, because she doesn't know what to do or how to react to them. I highly recommend this film. It's rated R so there is a ton of language in it. You won't regret seeing this movie.
