It seems like we get a new Netflix original every week, but there’s something special in Mind with David Fincher and Charlize Theron. Become a Mindhunter with our first trailer for the October premiere, as Jonathan Groff and Fringe alum Anna Torv start profiling serial killers.

In addition to our longest look yet at the new Fincher-directed, Charlize Theron-produced series, the first official trailer also confirms the reported October 13 premiere from a few months back. The footage released was also accompanied by a cache of photos for the supporting cast:

The series is adapted from John Douglas and Mark Olshanker’s 1996 book Mind Hunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit, which Theron held the rights to. The Road scribe Joe Penhall wrote the script, with Fincher and Theron executive producing, and Fincher directing the first two episodes. The book itself follows Douglas’ decades developing criminal profiling techniques and tracking down serial killers for the FBI.

So reads the Netflix synopsis:

MINDHUNTER features Jonathan Groff (Looking), Holt McCallanay (Sully), Anna Torv (Fringe) and Hannah Gross (Unless). The series is directed by David Fincher (Gone Girl, The Social Network, Zodiac), Asif Kapadia (Amy, Senna), Tobias Lindholm (A War, A Hijacking) and Andrew Douglas (The Amityville Horror, U Want Me 2 Kill Him?). Fincher, Joshua Donen (Gone Girl, The Quick and the Dead) Charlize Theron (Girlboss, Hatfields & McCoys) and Cean Chaffin (Gone Girl, Fight Club) are Executive Producers.

In the meantime, watch the first Mindhunter trailer below, and stay tuned.
