The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) has announced they have finished construction on the Big Sky Bridge Deck Project. The construction took place along US 191 and MT 64 throughout the summer and kept US 191 down to one lane. This comes as good news to the Big Sky community and the projects wraps up just before the winter season.

MDT thanks everyone for their patience and understanding during this busy construction season. These bridges sorely needed these improvements and had not experienced repairs of this scale since they were originally built, when Big Sky was a fraction of the size it is today. These bridges will serve the community for many more years to come.
stated William Fogarty, Butte District Administrator for the Montana Department of Transportation, in a press release.
With US 191 down to one lane for most of the summer, many were impacted throughout the construction project. Crews began working on the project back in May and had numerous bridge repairs to tackle.
As part of the bridge repairs, crews had to completely rebuild the bridge on Little Coyote Road.  They also worked on the bridge near the intersection of MT 64 and US 191.  Then crews repaired a bridge about two miles north of the turn to Big Sky on US 1919. Construction crews had to completely rebuild the bridge on Little Coyote Road.
