Apparently restaurant owners in Maine don't mess around. Especially during breakfast.

So here is the situation.  At this diner in Maine there was a young couple with a small child during the breakfast rush.  They ordered their food and the child starting screaming.  This went on for around 30 minutes in a full restaurant.  The owner says that the parents didn't do anything to calm the child and just sat there.  The owner was working the grill and got fed up and went over and told the child to shut up.  The parents stunned didn't know what to do but the child stopped screaming.

What would you have done in this situation as the parents or the owner?  We go through this everyday either at restaurants, airports/airplanes, or in the grocery store.  Do you think the parents should have done something with their child?  Do you think the owner had the right to stop the child from screaming?
