Chance the Rapper did right by his hometown of Chicago yet again last night (November 7), when he led thousands of fans to early voting sites following a free "Parade to the Polls" outdoor concert at Grant Park downtown.

The rapper, born Chancellor Bennett, announced via Twitter on Monday that his concert, and the parade's point of departure, had been moved from the Virgin Hotel to Grant Park's Petrillo Music Shell due to the overwhelming amount of interest. And that interest moved the crowd all the way from the concert to the voting booth, as the police-monitored procession made its way through downtown, as NBC reported.

And his Millennial-voter mobilization has helped set a record, according to ABC 7: Cook County Clerk David Orr told the Chicago affiliate that pre-Election Day voting (which includes early voting, grace-period voting and voting by mail) had reached over 438,212 ballots as of about 8 p.m. on Monday. That beat 2012's previous record of 273,661 ballots by a sizable margin.

The show and the march were organized by Chance's nonprofit, Social Works. The Chicago native counts President Obama among his friends (Beyonce, too) and has spearheaded a number of efforts for the city, including a coat drive for the homeless.
