‘Logan Lucky’ Clip: Watch a Delightful Daniel Craig Weigh the Pros and Cons of a Hillbilly Heist

It’s too early to be entirely certain, but judging by this clip, Daniel Craig might be the most wonderful part of Logan Lucky. The 007 star drops the posh accent and suave sophistication to play a bleach-blonde countrified convict in Steven Soderbergh’s latest film, which centers on a pair of brothers (Channing Tatum and Adam Driver) plotting to pull off a heist during a big racing event at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. That’s where Craig comes in.

Will Smith Set to Fight His Younger Clone in Ang Lee’s ‘Gemini Man’ in 2019

The memory of Ang Lee, sensitive humanist auteur from Taiwan's New Wave has become a distant memory over the past decade or so. All hail Ang Lee, constructor of boundary-pushing technical spectacle! He earned his second Best Director Academy Award for besting the hazard-trifecta of children, animals, and water with Life of Pi and then introduced public audiences to high-framerate hyperreal photography with Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk last year. (Though opinions on the extent to which he succeeded on that second one vary wildly.) And now, the news is out that he’ll rejoin us in 2019 for another huge undertaking.

The Rock Wants You to Know He Does NOT Run Like Tom Cruise in a New ‘Rampage’ Set Photo

Dwayne Johnson’s Rampage, based on the video game about monster-sized animals that terrorize a city, is currently filming, and The Rock really, really wants us all to be excited about that. He’s been posting photos from the set for the past few weeks, and his latest comes with one caveat: Don’t you dare tell The Rock that he runs like Tom Cruise.

‘Geostorm’ Trailer: Gerard Butler Literally Had to Fly in From Outer Space

If you’re going through Roland Emmerich withdrawals, or perhaps you’ve always wanted to know what Armageddon would be like if it wasn’t as good, then may I present to you the latest trailer for — wait for it — Geostorm. Yes, that’s the actual title. Really. No, it’s not a fake movie, but you’d be forgiven for thinking as much after sitting through two and a half totally bonkers minutes of footage.

Ryan Reynolds Responds To a Heartbroken Fan Who Photoshopped Him Into Her Prom Photos

At last, a news item that combines the two most universally beloved genres of showbiz reporting: “Celebrities extending kindness to un-famous teens by acknowledging them through the internet” stories and “Ryan Reynolds getting into mischief again!” stories. We live in wondrous times, friends, where a skillful Photoshop job and a moment’s tweetings can get a bona fide movie star into your orbit — and change the trajectory of your life forever.

Adam Wingard Explains Why He Set Netflix’s ‘Death Note’ Movie in America

For most fans of the Death Note manga and/or anime series, it may seem a little odd that Netflix’s new movie based on the property is set in the U.S. It was, after all, a Japanese series to begin with. Recently, director Adam Wingard explained why he thought it was necessary for his version of the story that it be set in America, with American actors.

Per Edgar Wright, a ‘Baby Driver’ Sequel Might Continue Baby’s Driving

It wasn’t so long ago that Edgar Wright voiced some misgivings about the business of sequels, saying “I guess I would rather be telling new stories than revisiting old ones.” But in that very same interview, he emphasized that he has no hard-and-fast rules for how he chooses projects, and that if reviving an established property felt natural and creatively productive, he wouldn’t rule out the possibility. He batted around the idea of following up on cop-parody Hot Fuzz back then, and now today, he’s reignited fan murmurs of an entry into sequeldom with Baby Driver.

Our Boys Vow to Never Surrender in Latest ‘Dunkirk’ Trailer

Christopher Nolan doesn’t do small movies — if he’s going to mount a war picture, you can bet it’s gonna be one of the biggest (and priciest!) to date. He’s seemingly spared no expense for his new film Dunkirk, reportedly corralling thousands of extras, destroying vintage planes, and dominating the land, sea, and air all for a grand new vision of combat. And in order to fully convey the enormity of his ambitions, Nolan went all-in and mounted his production on 70 millimeter film. For laymen, that means he used a larger film strip while shooting to capture more brilliant colors, richer sound, and a greater sharpness of detail. For those who don’t give a hoot, it means this film will rattle your bones.

Watch Peter Parker’s Secret Vlog of ‘Civil War’ Ahead of ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’

Kids these days, always plugged in to their smartphones and laptops and Instagrams, constantly suffering from the compulsion to record every aspect of their lives. For a superhero, this is probably a bad idea, given the whole secret identity thing and all — but our new Peter Parker is very much a millennial, and he’s going to vlog this whole thing if it kills him.

Magneto Could Have an Unusually Important Role in ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’

For those of you who read the comics, you’ll know that Magneto doesn’t really feature that prominently in X-Men’s Dark Phoenix storyline. But because Michael Fassbender is such a star, and because Magneto and Professor X’s relationship with each other is so integral to the X-Men film series, it sounds like Magneto’s gong to have a much bigger role in turning Jean Grey over to the Dark Side.

Further Plot Details, Casting Notices Apparate as ‘Fantastic Beasts 2’ Starts Shooting

Last year’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them left some questions unanswered — namely, where to find the fantastic beasts. The film never made good on the explicit promise of its title, its best guess at where the fantastic beasts might be located landing somewhere around “all over the place.” As such, a sequel was all but necessary, in the hopes that it can finally clarify the movements and settling patterns of fantastic beasts. (That, and the first movie made over $800 million.) And as principal photography got rolling in England this morning, new plot details and casting notices have been made public, though none brings us any closer to a workable knowledge of fantastic beasts, and/or where to find them.
