The incident happened on Friday as the girl was on her way to school. She was unharmed, but the Bozeman police would like your assistance in finding the suspicious person. Some details on the truck are pretty specific.

According to the Bozeman Police Department Press Release:

Suspicious Person near the intersection of Cottonwood Rd. and Cascade St.

On Friday, September 25, 2015 a middle-school aged female student was contacted by a male in a pickup truck near the intersection of Cottonwood Rd. and Cascade St. while riding her bike to school.

A male reportedly asked the student twice if she would like a ride to school.  The female told him “no” and proceeded to go to school.  Furthermore, the female stated the truck drove away after she told him “no.”

Vehicle and Suspect description:

The unknown person was described as an older, Caucasian male, with a white/curly beard.

The pickup, described as newer and black in color also had what appeared to look like “half-stars” on the tailgate. These were attached to the top corners of the tailgate and did not appear to be stickers.

The Bozeman Police Department would like to remind parents to speak with their children about the dangers of accepting rides from strangers.
