“Story Under the Stars” announces 2 free outdoor movies

on the lawn of Story Mansion Park

Story under the Stars is back! The popular outdoor film series held on the lawn of Story Mansion City Park will again be free and open to the public. This year, there will be two screenings:

Saturday, August 20 @ 8:30 pm - American Graffiti

On the eve of Bozeman's annual Cruisin' on Main car show, expect to see cool hot rods parked around the Story. George Lucas's classic 1973 coming-of-age film introduced Harrison Ford, Richard Dreyfuss, Cindy Williams, Mackenzie Phillips and Ron Howard to the big screen. Set in Modesto, California in the early 1960's AG is a nostalgic portrait of the baby boom generation's cruisin' and rock 'n roll scene, as told through the story of 4 teenagers one late summer night in 1962. 110 minutes.

Saturday, August 27 @ 8:30 pm - West Side Story:

This 1961 adaptation of Romeo and Juliet won ten Oscars. With music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, WSS is set in New York City, where the rival Jets and Sharks battle for territory and respect. Starring Natalie Wood, Richard Beymer and Russ Tamblyn. 152 minutes.

-----

Story Under the Stars has become a late summertime tradition in Bozeman, drawing hundreds to the lawn of the historic Story Mansion. Hosted by local nonprofits Bozeman Film Festival and Friends of The Story, this annual event is now in it’s 3rd season. Thanks to the efforts of dozens of volunteers and the generous sponsorship of local businesses, admission is free of charge. However, to help cover operational costs, attendees will be encouraged to make a small donation to the hosting organizations.

Films begin at dusk. With limited space on the lawn, attendees should arrive early. Blankets or low back lawn chairs are recommended. A section for tall back chairs will be set aside so not to block the view.

Because of limited parking in the residential neighborhood, attendees are strongly encouraged to walk, bike, carpool or take Streamline to Story park, located at Willson and College.

New Jobs Tax Breaks: (tfn)

Workers and businesses are eager to learn more about two new tax benefits that are part of the Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment (HIRE) act. These new tax breaks offer a much-needed boost to employers who may be thinking about adding positions to their payrolls-while also opening up more employment opportunities for workers.

The IRS is here to help. With a comprehensive Web site, knowledgeable staff and helpful customer service, businesses can turn to IRS.gov for the latest information on these new jobs tax breaks.

With this new legislation, employers may qualify for a special 6.2% payroll tax incentive to fill positions with people who have been unemployed or worked very little during the previous 60 days. If these new hires stay on the job for at least a year, employers can also claim a tax credit of up to $1,000 per worker.

The IRS has developed a 60-second PSA to help guide people through their questions about these new tax benefits. This PSA steers listeners to IRS.gov for the latest information on the HIRE act.

We hope you'll take a moment to review this PSA. Click here to preview and download the HIRE Act PSA. You can also download it on IRS.gov. We believe you'll find it to be a valuable resource for your listeners.
