Blustery conditions for the higher elevations around Bozeman with most snow falling above 6,500 feet. Gusty winds up to 30mph at times could make visibility very poor while traveling.

The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for elevations above 6500 feet for heavy snow and
blowing snow which is in effect until 11 am MST Sunday.

Timing and main impact: periods of snow... heavy at times will
continue through this evening. The combination of snow and
gusty winds will cause difficult travel and outdoor conditions.

Snow accumulations: total snow accumulations of 8 to 14
inches can be expected.

Winds and visibility: west winds of 15 to 20 mph with gusts up
to 30 mph will cause areas of blowing snow and reduced visibilities
to less than one half mile at times.

Locations affected include: the mountain ranges of Beaverhead
... Madison ... and Gallatin counties. The warning also includes
the city of West Yellowstone... and Monida... targhee... and Chief
Joseph Pass.

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of
snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in
an emergency. If you must... keep an extra flashlight... food... and
water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
