If you want to explore Montana this winter season, there is one place that is perfect for all activities.

The snow is falling, meaning winter is in full swing in Montana. That means you will be limited in what you can do for fun for the next several months, but it gives you ample opportunities to try something new.

While most of us prefer to stay warm instead of freezing, many Montanans love getting out in the snow and having the time of their lives. These activities include ice skating, skijoring, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and more. My favorite thing to do is to go to hot springs, but that's just my opinion.

Where should you go to have this fun? If you are new to Montana or looking for suggestions, we have somewhere you should check out.

USA Today came out with a list of 7 National Parks That Offer Epic Wintertime Fun, and even though most of the national parks they mention are in primarily sunny locations year-round, one Montana national park made the list.

USA Today picked Yellowstone National Park as the number one place to have some wintertime fun, and they are correct.

Yellowstone National Park might have most of the park closed during the winter, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy yourself. Several companies offer snowmobiling tours and snow coach trips. You can explore the oldest national park in America in ways that would make those summer tourists jealous.

Even though most folks will go to West Yellowstone for these activities, we recommend checking out Gardiner during the winter season. Gardiner is the northern entrance to Yellowstone and is a hidden gem during the winter.

The town has several hotels to enjoy, restaurants with fantastic food, and Yellowstone Hot Springs to warm you up after a long day in the snow. You won't regret checking out this cool little town.

Do you want to get into some winter fun? Let Yellowstone be your starting point.
