Out of all the colleges in America, how do only two Montana universities end up on this list, and why aren't they ranked higher?

Montana has some incredible colleges and universities. Young adults from all over the world come to further their education in their respective fields. Montana is known for their engineering, architecture, film, agriculture, and business schools.

Forbes made their annual America's Top Colleges list and ranked the Top 500 colleges and universities, and Montana only had two schools land on the list.

The two colleges are Montana State University in Bozeman and Montana Tech in Butte.

I'm not surprised these two schools made the list. I'm surprised how low they ended up on the list. Montana Tech is ranked #355, and Montana State landed at #426. Both Montana schools are known for their incredible programs and are some of the best in the Pacific Northwest.

I don't understand how some colleges in the surrounding states are ranked higher than these Montana schools. I am also surprised the University of Montana and Carroll College didn't land on the list.

Even though Montana State University and Montana Tech didn't land high on this list from Forbes, they were still ranked in the Top 500, which is impressive. We feel  Montana State will probably keep climbing this list if they keep seeing enrollment climbing and keep expanding programs.
