"BYE BYE."
Those are the chilling final words scrawled in capital letters on the last page of a diary the late Heath Ledger kept as he was filming 'The Dark Knight,' his last finished movie. Ledger's father, Kim, opened up Ledger's Joker diary publicly for the first time for the upcoming documentary 'Too Young to Die,' giving fans a fascinating glimpse into how the late actor created one of the most memorable movie villains of all-time.
'Fast Five' attempted - and quite successfully I might add - a reboot of sorts for the entire 'Fast and Furious' franchise, turning a series of movies about car racing into one exciting heist film. It was big and brash and sweaty and a complete success. So where do you go from there? 'Fast and Furious 6' attempts to answer that question by adding an -er suffix to all those adjectives above. Bigger, brasher, sweatier.
'Fast and Furious 6' is like 'Fast Five' on nitrous - director Justin Lin hits that proverbial turbo boost to go bigger, faster, stronger - and at times, that is a great thing. But when the NOS runs out, the drag race just turns into a drag.
As 'Iron Man 3' gets set to hit theaters this weekend, Joss Whedon continues to tease 'Avengers 2' with public comments. 'Captain America 2' has begun filming and you won't have to wait until 2013 Comic-Con to get your first look at Cap back in action. We've got your first 'Captain America 2' photo below! Here's a sentence we never thought we'd type: 'G.I. Joe 3' is moving forward at Paramount and Hasbro. It's not that we didn't want a 'G.I. Joe 3' but after 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' was pushed back over nine months amid rumors of a major bomb, we were just beginning to think we were the only ones who wanted a 'G.I. Joe 3.' But 'Retaliation' made a surprising $41 million at the box office and now the 'G.I. Joe' trilogy is about to happen.
You've seen it a hundred times in countless sci-fi movies: an object from space comes hurtling towards Earth leaving a trail of thick smoke behind it as curious onlookers turn their heads to the sky, mouths agape. Only this time, it's real.
Over 500 people were injured in Chelyabinsk, Russia last night when a meteor came blazing into the atmosphere, exploded and sent fireballs raining down as citizens caught all the action on camera.
We caught a fleeting glimpse of multiple Oscar-nominee Amy Adams as Lois Lane in the 'Man of Steel' trailer (seen above) but today we get our first official look at Lois Lane from the upcoming Superman film. And? There are certainly a big change to the Daily Planet.
The search for a 'Star Wars: Episode 7' director is over. J.J. Abrams - the man who once said he would only be interested in 'Star Wars' as a paying moviegoer - will direct the first film in the new trilogy.
'Man of Steel' has a villain any Superman fan will recognize: General Zod. Played by Oscar-nominee Michael Shannon, Zod was famously seen in 'Superman II' and introduced the classic line, "Kneel before Zod!" But is there another Superman bad guy in 'Man of Steel?' One that the filmmakers are trying to keep quiet? There very well may be and that top secret villain may have been spoiled with details on the new 'Man of Steel' toy line. Potential spoilers ahead...
Sorry Bat-fans. If you were looking for a new Batman movie some time soon, you're going to get disappointed. It looks like we won't see a 'Dark Knight' reboot for quite a while. So what's the hold up?
As Arnold Schwarzenegger's new film - 'The Last Stand' - hits theaters this weekend, let's turn our attention to perhaps his most popular franchise. The actor was in talks to star in 'Terminator 5' after leaving public office but he never had an actual script. That's about to change as two writers have been hired to write a 'Terminator 5' script, kickstarting the upcoming sequel.
'Star Wars: Episode 7' still hasn't announced its director but one of the names that has been on the list since Day 1 is 'Avengers' director Joss Whedon. He's busy working on both the 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' TV series and 'The Avengers 2' but is there room for 'Star Wars: Episode 7' in that equation?
