Bad news, Lana Del Rey fans. The ‘Video Games’ singer has scrapped her tour in light of the backlash from her now notorious ‘SNL’ performance. The New York Post reports that Del Rey’s label execs, tour managers and general management agreed to nix the club tour she had planned. The stint was scheduled to kick off as early as March at SXSW to coincide with the release of ‘Born to Die’. Sources told the Post that Del Rey’s team simply doesn’t think the chanteuse is ready for an actual live tour — and that she was devastated by the decision.

“[Lana] and her manager decided to cancel [the tour] after ‘SNL,’ ” a source told the Post. “She was very upset.” But, the source added, “They figure it allows time for her to clear her head, then go back to selling tickets. More importantly, they figure, the extra time gives them more distance from ‘SNL.’”

The source said that Interscope exec Jimmy Iovine had a heavy hand in the cancellation. “Jimmy knew if she would have disappointed again, it would have backfired,” the source told the Post.

Del Rey has reportedly been in the studio working on her vocal performance, though for her part, Del Rey thinks she “sang fine” on the show. Interscope reps didn’t confirm or deny the cancellation, but they did deny their involvement in it. “Interscope had nothing to do with booking or postponing a tour. Jimmy [Iovine] is excited and thankful that Lana is performing at a Grammy event in his honor this week.”

The news comes on the heels of an interview in which Del Rey said she may never make another album. The tour may not be necessary just yet anyway. ‘Born to Die’ debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on iTunes — so clearly, for all of her detractors, Del Rey is doing something right.
